I've seen both, but incompetence is certainly the traditional theme of the night.
We went into the wrong room!
i do have some sympathy; here at fe there are four o'clock seminars in addition to the 7:30 ones, so it's not like anyone can ever pull off a complete surprise. the best they can do is shuttle people offcampus as quickly as possible and then bring them back, but they're always missed at dinner. still, though, we knew this was coming on monday.
i am hoping they will make up for it with extra awesome, but this particular class i haven't got much hope for.
how did you go into the wrong room? did you prank the wrong seminar?
Our prank orders got confused, and yes, we pranked the wrong seminar. It caused a little confusion on the part of the other people involved (who had the right seminar and ended up in the 'wrong' one), but luckily our dumb prank had two parts, and Moss and . . . who was our second compatriot, Elise(?) were waiting in the hall as I sat in seminar dressed in robes and a funny hat.
our prank ended up being just... awkward. like a larry david sketch gone horribly, horribly wrong.
