and i have a weird ID picture, but that's to be expected
i think i was expecting more nerds, somehow. more outcasts, more freaks. more... something. everyone here looks far too well-kempt and socially well-adjusted. (except for the one awkward dude in the pyjama pants and sandals who kept muddling through evidently-memorised one-liners in the "why do you drive on a parkway and park in a driveway?" vein, but still, there are a whole lot of cargo shorts, tans, and sorority girl laughs going on here.)
then again, most everyone is being shepherded about campus in the company of their parents. this could be a factor in the noticeable lack of affectation and eccentricity. i do hope so. hell, i'm the only one with weird hair, even!
also, i don't have a mailbox yet. i blame cobalt for this. i know that i have a mailbox. i have been in the Restricted Area and i have *seen* my mailbox. also, somehow, they have managed to make The Moon suck even more than it used to suck. i didn't think it could be done. i will remedy this, by force if necessary.

It is hard to find non-cargo in stores shorts right now. So it could just be that. (quietly praying that there are still non-normal Johnnies in the world).
Also, I had completely forgotten that Cobalt moved to Fe.
The diminishing number of weirdos was a cause of some controversy during my last two years in Annapolis. Many people were concerned by the growing number of norms and the paucity of hard cases, crazies, and any sort of genuine outsiders. It was often theorized that this was partially due to the increasing application rate and the (proportionally) falling acceptance ratio.
Yeah, I have two pairs of bottoms bought this year that have cargo stylings even though it isn't my fashion of choice. One takes what fits and is comfortable. Surely there are crazy fun people in your class. Surely...
clothing options do genuinely suck, but i'm increacingly of the opinion that the style is one of their own choosing. where did you come from, Normals? why are you here?
i do think the reform of 2000 altered the makeup of the student body, and not for the better. people are even declining to participate in the Epic Sidewalk Poem, which i find very sad. they don't really seem to get it. i found someone to add a line with me, though, so i have at least made one Interesting Friend. (we added illustrations, too.)
re: cobalt, yes, he did. can we return him?
