no, it is in fact That Harrison, the one who was denied tenure last year for the reason, evidently, of sucking hardcore. upon informing greg of my tutors, i was told to try and transfer out of basically everything. it can't be that bad, can it?

In my experience (please forgive me for all the unsolicited advice over the last few days) it's never worth transferring out of a class. You get told it all the time, by trustworthy people and untrustworthy people, but I just don't think it's ever worth it. The amount you can learn by sticking out something and learning from a difficult tutor is too important to miss.

I would have profited from transferring out of my sophomore seminar with Borjesson. That was, however, more of a personality clash than his being a particularly bad tutor (I do swear to this day that he holds grudges even worse than I do).

nate: i don't mind the unsolicited advice at all. actually, i'm soliciting it. i will take it all!

i am hearing good things about vb, and at least okay things about harrison. i think it will be Okay. and i am totally now a mr farin fangirl and if he winds up getting deported i might cry. he is awesome.
